How to Make a Butterfly Calendar If you are looking for something to do with our children to keep them occupied on a rainy day rather than them driving you crazy because they are bored then try making a butterfly calendar with them. There are just a few simple steps and the results will be well worth the effort...you will have a wonderful butterfly calendar to hang on your home or office wall.
The process of making a butterfly calendar is very easy. First, make a list of all the things you will need. You'll need twelve blank sheets of copy paper, 1/2 a piece of poster board (any color you like), some colored pencils, twelve butterfly color sheets (or you and the kids can draw different butterflies for the calendar), crayons or markers and a stapler. You'll need a large surface to work on, such as the dining room table, so you should clear it off before starting on your butterfly calendar.
Now that you have everything you need for your butterfly calendar, you and your children can start coloring the pictures of the butterflies you have picked out. There should be twelve, one for every month. Now, taking the twelve blank sheets of paper, make each one into a month of the year. You can add holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, or any other dates that are special for your family. Let it be a creative time and add all the small touches that you and the kids like.
Now that you have finished drawing out the months and coloring the butterflies, it's time to put your calendar together. Staple your 12 butterfly pictures in each upper corner to your poster board. Make sure they are in order and leave a little space and do the same with the month pages. Once this is done, Behold! your butterfly calendar! As each month passes, simply remove the current month to show the next.
This is a great project that both you and the kids will and enjoy and will be there for the entire year.
